Prompt Enhancement

Better prompts, before they run

CloudByte AI improves each prompt in two ways: it adds the developer profile synced from your central dashboard, and it rewrites vague prompts with the current context and your project knowledge base, asking questions when it needs to.

Two ways

Two ways to a better first answer

A vague prompt costs a round of corrections. Prompt Enhancement closes the gap from both sides: who is asking, and what they are asking about.

  • Way 1

    Improve the developer profile

Every developer gets a profile built in your central CloudByte AI dashboard and synced to their machine, so each prompt starts with who is asking and how your team works.

    • Role, projects and stack for each developer
    • Team standards, CLAUDE.md files and approved skills
    • Learns from each developer's best prompts

  • Way 2

    Improve the prompt itself

Each prompt gets a quick check before it runs. Vague prompts are rewritten with the current context and your project knowledge base, and questions are asked when only the developer knows the answer.

    • Uses the current context of the session
    • Uses your project knowledge base
    • Rewrites the prompt and asks questions when needed

Way 1Developer profile

A developer profile, synced from your central dashboard

Each developer has a profile in CloudByte AI with their role, the projects they work on, the stack they use and the standards your team has agreed. The agent pulls it down to every machine and adds it to prompts, so the AI already knows who it is working with.

  • Role, projects, stack and experience level for each developer
  • Team coding standards, CLAUDE.md files and approved skills included
  • Set up once centrally and synced to every machine automatically
  • Gets better over time from each developer's best performing prompts
Way 2Prompt rewriting

Rewrite vague prompts with the context they were missing

Before a prompt runs, CloudByte AI checks whether it is clear enough to act on. If it is not, it pulls in the current context and your project knowledge base and rewrites the prompt into one the model can get right the first time.

  • Current context: the open session, the files in play, recent changes and errors
  • Project knowledge base: architecture notes, past decisions and conventions
  • Adds the details you would otherwise type after a bad first attempt
  • Everything added is visible to the developer before it runs
Way 2Clarifying questions

Ask a few questions when only the developer knows the answer

Some prompts hide a decision that context alone cannot make. When that happens, CloudByte AI asks a few short questions first, each with concrete options taken from the project, then folds the answers into the rewritten prompt.

  • Between 1 and 6 questions, only when a prompt is genuinely unclear
  • Options built from real files, recent changes and errors
  • Always an Other option to answer in your own words
  • Answers go straight into the rewritten prompt, then it runs
How it works

From what you typed to what the model sees

Four quick steps run on the developer machine every time a prompt is sent. Most prompts finish after the first one.

  1. 01

    Check

Every prompt gets a quick clarity check. Clear prompts run straight away, exactly as typed.

  2. 02

    Gather

For a vague prompt, it gathers the developer profile, the current session, the codebase and your project knowledge base.

  3. 03

    Ask

If a decision only the developer can make is missing, it asks 1 to 6 short questions with concrete options.

  4. 04

    Rewrite and run

The prompt is rewritten with that context and the answers, then runs. The developer sees what was added.

In practice

Three prompts, three outcomes

Prompt Enhancement only steps in when it helps. Here is what happens to three prompts on the same project.

  • Too vague: asks first

    Developer types

    fix the error

    CloudByte AI asks

    Which error needs fixing?

    • TypeError in src/checkout/refund.ts (changed today)
    • Timeout in src/services/payment-client.ts
    • Other: paste the error message

One question, then the prompt is rewritten with the answer.

  • Missing context: rewritten

    Developer types

    add tests for refunds

    Sent to the model

Add unit tests for the refund flow in src/checkout/refund.ts using Vitest, following the patterns in tests/checkout/. Cover full refunds, partial refunds and the rounding fix from this week. Do not change production config.

Context from the session, the knowledge base and the developer profile.

  • Already clear: runs as is

    Developer types

Fix the TypeError in src/checkout/refund.ts line 84, where amount is undefined for partial refunds

    Result

    Sent exactly as typed.

No rewrite and no questions. Nothing gets in the way.

Built to stay out of the way

  • Rarely steps in

Most prompts pass straight through. It only acts when a prompt is too vague to get right the first time.

  • Never blocks

The developer stays in charge. Start a prompt with * to send it exactly as typed, and slash commands are never changed.

  • Always visible

Every piece of context and every rewrite shows up in the session, so nothing happens behind anyone's back.

  • Grounded in your project

Questions and rewrites come from your real code, recent changes and knowledge base, never from guesses.

  • Inside your security rules

Rewritten prompts go through the same prompt scanning and team guardrails as every other prompt.

FAQ

Prompt Enhancement questions, answered

How developer profiles, rewrites and clarifying questions work on your team.

It improves prompts before they reach the model in two ways. It adds each developer's profile, synced from your central dashboard, and it rewrites vague prompts with the current context and your project knowledge base, asking short questions when something only the developer can answer is missing.

No. Every prompt gets a quick clarity check, and clear prompts run exactly as typed. It only rewrites a prompt or asks questions when the prompt is too vague to get right the first time, and everything it adds is visible in the session.

The developer's role, projects, stack and experience level, plus your team's coding standards, CLAUDE.md files and approved skills. Admins set it up once in the central dashboard, the agent syncs it to every machine, and it keeps improving from the prompts that work best for each developer.

From the current session, the files and errors the developer is working on, recent changes in the repository, and your project knowledge base with its architecture notes, past decisions and conventions.

Between 1 and 6, and only when a prompt hides a decision the developer has to make. Each question comes with concrete options from the project, plus an Other option for answering in their own words.

Yes. Starting a prompt with * sends it exactly as typed, and slash commands are never changed. Prompt Enhancement never blocks a prompt from running.

Hardly. Clear prompts pass straight through after a quick check. A prompt that needs questions takes a few seconds longer, and usually saves a whole round of corrections afterwards.

Yes. A rewritten prompt goes through the same prompt scanning and team guardrails as any other prompt, so added context never sends sensitive data to the model.

Prompt Enhancement is included in the Team plan and in Enterprise.
